WhatsApp gets shortcut to send money via keyboard

WhatsApp announced this Thursday (18th), that the shortcut to send money through the app is now available to everyone. Identified by the “R$” symbol, the feature was already being tested in beta versions of the application. The button is located in the bar “glued” to the keyboard, next to the send an image or record an audio message icons.

To use the shortcut, users need to be registered with the WhatsApp payment service. The novelty, on the other hand, is gradually being distributed to all users of the Android and iOS app. The shortcut does not eliminate, however, the previous path:

Partner banks

In a note, the messenger mentions “the proximity of the end of the year festivities” and the simplicity of carrying out money transfers. To use the WhatsApp payment service, users also need to link their bank account to Facebook Pay.

The payment service is compatible with debit, prepaid (or both) cards with Visa and Mastercard brands. Banks Itaú, Nubank, Banco do Brasil, Inter, Bradesco, Mercado Pago, Neon, Next, Santander, Sicredi and Woop are accepted. Transactions via WhatsApp have no fee. There is, on the other hand, a daily and monthly limit for sending (BRL 1,000) and receiving (BRL 5,000) amounts.
