The Uyghur woman struggling to keep her culture alive

Mukaddes Yadigar is a Uighur entrepreneur living in the UK since 2011.

In London, he has two restaurants dedicated to Uighur cuisine. Every month, it organizes events there to celebrate the food, music and dances of its people, to ensure the preservation of its culture.

The Uighurs are a Muslim minority that comes mainly from the Xinjiang region of China.

Human rights organizations accuse the Chinese government of detaining more than one million Uighur Muslims and restricting their religious practices. And local activists say China is trying to erase its culture.
