‘Paris built the arena, Glasgow begins the race’

At the COP26 summit in Glasgow an agreement was reached aimed at preventing dangerous climate change.

The pledge to phase out coal that was included in previous negotiating drafts led to a dramatic end after India led the opposition.

John Kerry, the US climate envoy, has said that the Glasgow summit was always unlikely to result in a decision that was “somehow going to end the crisis.”
