PS5 celebrates its first anniversary with 4.6 billion hours played

The PS5 completes today, November 12th, its first anniversary since launch. Over the past 12 months, the platform totaled 4.6 billion hours of gameplay among its players, and Sony took the opportunity to disclose which were the ten most played games on the PS5, in number of hours:

  • Fortnite
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  • FIFA 21
  • NBA 2K21
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
  • Destiny 2
  • MLB The Show 21
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Demon’s Souls
  • NBA 2K22

Jim Ryan, the boss of PlayStation at Sony, signs the PS5 anniversary celebration post. He says, “It’s been a pretty busy year, and we’re just getting started with the PS5. The imaginative game makers and partner makers we’ve worked with have released more than 360 games on the PS5. Additionally, there are more than 25 games in development for the PS5 on the PS5.” PlayStation Studios.”

Among these games in development, we have great highlights in the already announced Gran Turismo 7, God of War Ragnarok e Horizon Forbidden West. And these games are mentioned by Ryan in the post, to highlight what has already been shown on the console throughout this first year of release.

The PlayStation blog post also claims that the PS5 was the biggest console release in history, and its manufacturer thanks buyers. But Sony also takes the opportunity to apologize for the difficulties in availability and stock of the video game, which have hindered people to get one.
