American B-1 bombers fly over Israel alongside IDF F-15 jets

IDF F-15 fighter jets accompanied two US B-1 bombers and a US KC-10 jet, which crossed the Israeli skies on their way to the Gulf, the IDF announced Thursday.

The flight was carried out as part of a collaboration with the US Army, which is a significant step in maintaining safety in the skies over Israel and the Middle East, “the statement read.

The United States is also collaborating with Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain on a multilateral maritime drill in the Red Sea, which was also announced Thursday.

The drill is reported to last five days, where “the training will improve interoperability between the maritime interdiction teams of the participating forces,” according to a statement from the United States Naval Forces Central Command.

In addition, the Iranian military launched its annual drill near the mouth of the Gulf on Sunday, which was a few weeks before the resumption of talks between Tehran and foreign states on the 2015 nuclear deal.
