Xi says China is ready to work with the US, as Biden’s meeting is planned for next week, source says

The meeting, the first since Biden became president earlier this year, will take place next week, a source familiar with his planning told CNN. However, specific details and a firm date have not been established.

Bloomberg first reported on the arrangement of the meeting.

It comes as Xi hinted at a slight warming of relations with the United States, according to a statement posted on the website of the Chinese embassy in the United States on Tuesday.

In the letter, Xi said that China is willing to “improve exchanges and cooperation in all fields” with the United States and put the relations between the two world powers back on track.

It was read by China’s ambassador to the Qin Gang of the United States, at a dinner of the National Committee on US-China Relations in Washington on Tuesday.
