Disney announced this Thursday (28) that actress Lisette Alexis (We Need to Do Something, Total Eclipse) will be the protagonist of The legend of the lost treasure, Disney+ series inspired by the eponymous film released in 2004.
According to the synopsis of the series, Alexis will play the young Jess Morales, an adventurer and dreamer who goes on a difficult journey with her friends to find answers about her family, with a past supposedly related to ancient relics that obsessed groups of treasure hunters.
“O [A Lenda do Tesouro Perdido] Disney+ has a much younger cast. It’s the same concept, but with a young cast,” producer Jerry Bruckheimer said in a 2020 interview. “The television version is underway. We have a pilot script done and an outline of future episodes.”
Bruckheimer also said, when officially announcing the series, that the adventure franchise will receive a third film featuring the same cast as the previous ones (Nicolas Cage and Diane Kruger) and designed to complement the series’ content. However, so far, nothing else has been revealed.
