Dune: slow, grand and Dennis Villenueve’s redemption (criticism)

have movies like The arrival, Hitman, The Duplicate Man e fires — the latter lesser known, but by far, one of the best in filmography — in the curriculum was not enough to free director Dennis Villenueve from harsh criticism after the release of Blade Runner 2049 (2017).

Well, no wonder, considering what he said in the podcast Happy Sad Confused who, in making the film, “was flirting with disaster.” After the failure with the critics, Villeneuve even thought about giving up his career, but thankfully not.
